Mark Pelini was many things to many people. To his family, he was openly loving and supportive. To the players he coached, he was a mentor. As a student, he was driven by his love of math and history. To his teammates, he was a leader. And for countless others, he was the person they knew they could depend upon in any situation, at any time.
Throughout his life, Mark placed his faith, family, and friends at the forefront. He looked to his parents for a blueprint of how to live a loving, impactful life. And his family believes that he was able to accomplish all that he did because of that selfless attitude.
On October 2, 2022, Mark passed away in a fatal car accident on his way to do one of the things he loved most – golf with a friend. In the wake of the shocking news, friends, family, and a community of people who were impacted by his leadership and kindness donated almost $50,000 in his memory. Because of that generosity, the Mark Vincent Pelini Foundation was created as a way to keep his memory and legacy alive.
We hope you’ll join us for a weekend of events to raise money for the MVP Foundation and celebrate Mark’s life.
The Mark Vincent Pelini Foundation is made up of a committed group of family, friends, and volunteers dedicated to raising funds to support educational scholarships and programs, athletic programs, and community-driven initiatives as a way to honor the memory of Mark Pelini.
The Mark Vincent Pelini Foundation as a pillar of strength in our community and beyond, with the resources to enrich the lives of others through scholarship, education, service, and resources.
The Mark Vincent Pelini Foundation will unite partners, leaders, and individuals of our community in a combined effort to empower lives.
In its inaugural year, the MVP Foundation will award scholarships to graduates from Mark’s alma mater, Cardinal Mooney High School. In the future, the Mark Vincent Pelini Foundation plans to extend it’s reach by supporting various community initiatives.
